baby bok choy bento

Happy Friday! Lunch is a bento of gingery baby bok choy prepared with a wonderful recipe from the Steamy Kitchen. The baby bok choy is layered over brown rice and accompanies ginger-scallion crab salad and avocado. For a sweet finish, ripe raspberries and cute little strawberry candies from Meiji:
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend and a joyful start to the New Year of the Rabbit!

So beautiful, Jenn! That crab salad sounds delicious. I've used those little mushroom shaped cookies too, only I had chocolate ones, not strawberry. Have a great weekend!

I so love baby bok choy. Besides being so cute, the delightful crispy nature and delectable flavors send me off in all culinary directions. Love your bento as always. Your color palette is delightful, cheery and heart warming.

Hi Robin! Lovely comments, thank you! This recipe called for ginger and garlic as seasonings for the baby bok choy...any others I should try? Cause now I'm hooked on these tender, cute little greens!

Hi Jenn, sometimes I play with rice wine vinegar and bacon with these sweet babies. Sesame seeds too, ohh how about baby leaves, blanched just a little then stuffed with a walnut, rice, cream cheese something... there you go sending me off into crazy cooking again! Cheers friend ;D

Love baby bok choy although sometimes is hard to get them in the market here. But we still can get regular bok choy that always available around the year. Super delicious bento that you made here Jenn! My kids will definitely say yes to those cute candies :)

The bento looks lovely as usual - such beautiful bright colors to help perk up a drab winter day!

The background you were using for your pictures - is it fabric or paper? It's so pretty!

Hi Kuusou! Thanks so much, I made this bento on a gray day to bring it some color, glad you liked :D
The background is a favorite piece of washi paper...
