apple pets bento

 
Happy Friday! Today's bento features whole grain toast topped with a wonderful salmon salad Jamison made. Green apple cut kitty and pup add color, while tender butter lettuce and edible blossoms, plus a French breakfast radish just pulled from the garden lend spring-zing.
 
I recently rediscovered my magewappa bento box, an old favorite...
 
 
Beautiful spring leafing and blooming a bit more each day here in Sonoma County and I'm thrilled to see the first tiny buds on several roses I planted. Have a great weekend!

beef bulgogi bento

 
Hi and happy Friday--have you also had a very busy week? Lunch is savory beef bulgogi over scallion-accented brown rice, with Japanese pickled ginger, mushrooms and flowering broccolini. For dessert: vanilla yogurt with mango "butterflies", a garden violet (they are popping up everywhere right now!)
 
The lilac is starting to bloom and its scent carries down the length of the garden...

after rain bento

            
Hello friends! What an amazingly beautiful day this is, after a rainy night: all is cool, bright and sweet with spring-expectancy. For lunch: brown rice, wild salmon, arugula (with raindrops!) and red grapefruit. A spicy dip of yogurt, mayo, horseradish and onion blossoms hops aboard, too.
 The lilac tree is looking happy as it buds...

It's finally Friday! Shokado style bento with some light bites: fish roasted with Meyer lemon and capers, quinoa with avocado, spicy baby greens and a juicy apple.
