beautiful sebastopol

Hi bento pals...on this infernally hot D.C. area weekend, I'd like to revisit and share with you some images from our recent trip to the delightful Sonoma County town and farmer's market of Sebastopol.

There was a baby pet goat adoption fair hosted by the Goat Rescue League...so sweet!

Beautiful, vibrant produce and flowers and live jazz made for a lovely market scene. The mellow, happy vibe was remarkable here; after gathering a few items like honey sweet cherries, we sat on a park bench and fell into easy conversation with locals about the market and town...

These pink roses were potently, amazingly fragrant! Yes, I had to buy them...

A local healthy cooking school shared these delish mashed fava bean and goat cheese on watermelon radish treats:

The view from our park bench

A pretty rainbow of beads in a nearby shop...

Art gallery window: love the soft-bright tones in this painting

Tamberlane is a charming, cheerful home decor shop with bright 1940's inspired textiles, even cute colorful skewers perfect for bento. Ever feel like a shop reflects your aesthetic to a "T"? That was this place for me...

Stay cool, friends!

What a great idea, stay a little bit cool and reflect and share a great outing! I will have to check out Tamberlane when I am next in the Sonoma area.

Sweet baby goats and darling babies visiting with them. Aww. Hope you stay cool this weekend Jenn.

Aw, adorable goat! I love all the colors at a market...so inspiring. Stay cool--this heat is really something else, isn't it?

That goat is the cutest thing! You always seem to find such beautiful flower wherever you are...they must follow you! :D

I think if I tried fava beans like that...with goat cheese served on a cracker like that I would love them. Hesitant about trying fava beans just because I'm not a lima bean fan. I do like many other beans though!

Hope you do get a chance to cool down...you can always jump in our pool! :-)

Hi Lyndsey dear, I should email you the recipe for this fava bean dip. I think I still have the printed handout from the market's demo table--it was REALLY good!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend :D

you had a hot yet fun and enjoyable trip :P
The peaches must be juicy. The flowers are lovely. The beads were colorful and bright. Did you buy any?

Hi Anja! Glad to read that these images brightened a dreary, rainy day, let's hope this week brings improved weather for us both!
