tarragon mini burger bento

Hi bento pals! Today's bento lunch takes inspiration once again from the cute macaron-enthusiast kitty of Palette's Sweet Street, this time with colorful Parisian macarons from Michel Patisserie. These colorful delights have the dreamy crisp-tenderness and rich flavor of lovingly crafted macarons...really special!

Michel's seasonal flavors are a treat--in this selection a pale pink "cherry blossom" macaron the exact color of the delicate Yoshino cherries that have just peaked around the D.C. Tidal Basin...

To continue the French theme, lunch featured mâche salad with walnut oil, endive topped with goat cheese and flowering tarragon, a mini organic beef burger flavored with fresh tarragon, shallots (goat cheese inside) and a stir fry of red cabbage and carrots...not forgetting two delicious macarons and tart-sweet blackberries!

Bento4Japan continues to inspire and raise essential funds for Japan's recovery while spreading bento love! Check out all the bento auction listings here...including my new one!

Mangifique! Such an inspiration! I love the background of a French Patisserie...so pretty. I have done a couple of French inspired thems in my cooking, now I have to put it in my bentos.

Could I have the endive topped with goat cheese and flowering tarragon? Please? :D

Tarragon, never have it! But I do remember, I know about it for the very first time when I was watching Hannah Montana. Jackson's teacher says, "Tarragon! I'm so gone!". Haha, LOL :D

bento looks beautiful as always! wow look at those macaroons!! I have always wanted to try but not sure if they're worth the price. They have them here at one of the coffee shops for $1.25 each.

My heart goes out to Japan too. They have been experiencing various Earthquake since with one at 7.4M yesterday. That's why I'm doing a giveaway in hopes to have more ppl donate to the relief efforts.

Love the flower on top! I just ordered some dandelion seeds to grow for greens but dang it, maybe now I'll have to buy some other edible flower seeds too. :(

Bentobird said...

Hello Mrs. P! Yes, they are pricey here as well.
We enjoyed a couple and then shared the rest with friends last night...one in your fav flavor may be a nice treat to try at the cafe some day?

Thanks for sharing heartfelt concern and info about your giveaway for Japan--it does indeed feel good to participate in the relief effort in whatever ways we can. The bento community has really shown care and creativity in response to the disaster...

Best wishes :))

Hi there Pikko! Mmmm, dandelion greens. Your comment reminds me of seeds I've ordered and need to plant, for edible blooms including nasturtium, calendula and more violas! Have a great weekend, we are excited to visit the annual Cherry Blossom Street Festival in DC :D

Hey Jenn, another inspired bento. My tongue is lingering over the tarragon burger and I am off to scout out the delicious macaroons. Love the whimsy of the little Parisian that just brings a sweet smile.

That you put your creativity into action as you work to help our friends in Japan is no more than inspiring. There are many that just utter words in sympathy, but action reveals the true heart. ♡

Hi Robin! How are things? Glad this bento and its feline inspiration brought a smile to you! And I'd love to hear about the macarons you find :D

The response of the bento community and so many others has been inpsiring--there was a beautiful show of support for Japan at events in D.C. this weekend, hope to post more on that very soon!
