a sweet morning in alexandria

Some images from an early morning walk in Alexandria featuring a visit to Buzz bakery/cafe, June flowers in bloom, and a breakfasting squirrel:

Incredible fresh strawberry tarts and banana chocolate bread pudding:

Nom nom....

Today's bento:
Along with roasted carrots, baby greens and sprouts we have furikake and mayo fish (inspired by versions in sherimiya's wonderful bentos) and bright citrus and kiwi slices...
I'm looking forward to the weekend...how about you guys?

I love your walk photos. The cat looks so much like our neighbor's cat that is always at our house. I'll post a photo of him on my blog. The flowers are gorgeous!

Hi Lynsey! I'm amazed by our adoptive neighbor tabby situations...can't wait to see your special visitor :) Oh, and I'd love some of those perfect eggplants from "Wordless Wednesday"!

Hi megan! Yes, he was going for broke in the seed department--maybe I should add a couple of additional cute pics I took of him before and after this nosh ;) Are you a hydrangea fan too? It seems like every day around here a new variety is opening up...thanks so much for coming by and have a fun weekend!

Hi gnoegnoe--that sounds like a blast! Then we could take a long walk to burn off some calories, as I think it would be hard to stop at one berry tart, haha :)
