Hello friends! I'm gearing up for a very busy week this Sunday evening...Monday's bento features a melange of farmer's market and elements of a yummy meal yesterday at our favorite Szechuan restaurant, China Star.
Leftover rice from dinner is stir-fried with market okra and bright peppers, and in the little bowl is a portion of garlicky "Crystal Shrimp." Baby golden tomatoes and tender-sweet figs round out lunch. Have a great week!
I am hoping for a big fig crop this year, did they go well with the rice?
ReplyDeleteI adore this basket bento. I want to find some figs too; they look wonderful! And is that a hibiscus? In Virginia? Fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteso nice and lovely
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see you enjoying the pretty little yellow tomatoes and other market treasures in today's bento! What a fabulous late summer treasure. Hope you have a great week!

ReplyDeleteHi Sheri! Gamene featured this lovely and fresh bamboo bento and inspired me to get my own (via Rakuten). I find it brings a cheerful natural feel to lunch...
ReplyDeleteThe pink flower is native Virginian member of the hibiscus family, known as marsh hibiscus--cool, huh? http://www.chesapeakebay.net/bfg_marsh_hibiscus.aspx?menuitem=14453
Have a super week, looking forward to your new bento creations!
