thoughts of home, szechuan breakfast

Hello friends, sorry that its been ages since I've posted! All caught up in work and home-work, I've missed sharing and visiting blogs! Today, doing some final photos for our home sale ad...

We started the day with a wonderful breakfast, one that combined a Szechuan eggplant dish from China Star (also including wood ear mushrooms, ginger) with fresh dill, scallions and eggs...awesome!

It was a big deal for us to get rid of our kitchen table last weekend so that the kitchen would stage/show more spaciously. It was the heart of our home--endless hours spent there! Some views of the rearranged kitchen:

A favorite antique map of Provence...

Everyone warned me that once we'd gotten the house ready for sale, that I'd fall in love with it again and not want to leave...some truth in that as I look around and recall so many great memories, happy times, things I'll miss...

Hopefully we'll find a new home to nest in that will make us at least as happy...

What I love most, is seeing glimpses of where you've been shooting your bentos. I recognize the wonderful light coming into the living room and the colorful rug. Those touches of your home will be carried with you to your new place, new light, new adventures.

The Szechuan breakfast is truly a creative combination. Awesome indeed!

Hi Robin dear! So nice to read your cheery comment, and yes, that living room rug has been the background to most of the Middle Eastern bentos I've done, that's some sharp observation!

Flying over to What About the Food to catch up on your gourmet adventures. Happy weekend to you!

Houses are like overcoats, you can take them off and try a new one on, it's what's inside that counts. (Is that profound or what!)Good luck with the sale.

You have a beautiful home and your new home will be just as wonderful. What makes a home is the people who live and love in it.

Your home does look exquisitely beautiful, with the lovely furnishings, evidence of lived-in memories and love. I also love the way the sunlight comes in throught the spacious windows! Gorgeous!

Always a real wrench to leave somewhere you have put a lot of yourself into, but I am sure with your great eye for detail you will find something to make even more lovely, Jenn! :)
