Hi bento pals! A simple and traditional bento for today, with brown rice, honey-mustard chicken, Japanese pickled red ginger (beni shōga), crisp broccoli, orange pepper and a bright slice of lemon. Hope your week is going well--we are starting to get some refreshingly cool days here with beginning hints of fall color, can't wait for the maples to turn scarlet and gold...
This looks so delicious - simple, perfectly prepared and nourishing for autumn. Yum yum!
ReplyDeleteHi Lexi, glad you liked this, many thanks!Hooray, autumn is coming :D
ReplyDeleteI love the red ginger, I bought some for the chirashi that I made and really loved it. It works perfect for bentos.
ReplyDeleteI make three lunches every morning and some bentos are pretty and some are just sandwhiches, I really hope to get some clicks of them...but it's just so early and not much time. I want to start posting my bentos again!
It is starting to cool in the low 70s at night here and we can open the doors in the morning! :) otherwisw upper 80's during the day, but we don't get as hot as the rest of the country did this past summer. Never reached 100 here!
Hi Lyndsey! Yep, the ginger has the best hot pink color, love that and the bracing flavor :)
ReplyDeleteWhen you find the time, will be fun to see your bentos--you are making so many, I'm impressed!
Nice weather you've had, we had a few weeks of upper 90's to 100 this summer and I'm glad they are over! I live for the mild and nuanced in-bewteen seasons of spring and fall! Thanks for your visit, pal :D
Stunning bento and gorgeous honey mustard chicken.. yums!
ReplyDeleteOooh, the chicken looks divine! Your irises are gorgeous too! What a nice welcome to Fall :)
ReplyDeletesimple and delicious, Jenn
ReplyDeleteI can just taste the wondeful mustard chicken, a favorite combination. Sweet irises bring out the lovely purple colors in the drawstring bag. Fabulous combinations Jenn!
ReplyDeleteWe're feeling a bit of Indian Summer here, cool mornings and lovely mid-80s and 90s during the day. Makes up for the lousy foggy "summer" we've had. Love it!
The combination of side dishes sounds perfect! Have a great day dear friend :D
ReplyDeleteHi Bobo, thanks~! Your comments make my day :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheri! Are signs of Autumn starting to appear near you? Have a great Wednesday...
ReplyDeleteHi Yenny! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteoh, your comments are always so poetic and descriptive, Robin! Indian Summer, sounds delightful.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling drawn towards flavors of Spain and Southwestern France as the light changes here--thinking about making a chicken, sherry, chorizo dish I found a recipe for online (maybe this weekend). Anything sherry-colored and golden seems right as September gracefully curves into October...
Talk to you soon :D
Hi Ta! Thanks for visiting with these sweet comments, hugs :D
ReplyDeleteLove your bento! Always simple and pretty!
ReplyDeleteHello there Anncoo, always so sweet--thank you!
