almost valentine's day bento

Hi bento pals! A quick post on Friday's lunch, which featured balsamic and garlic marinated steak, haricots verts with oven-roasted carrots, leeks and parsnips and the bonus of a delicious yogurt-basil pesto sauce made by hubby.

Little konpeito candies with hearts decorated bag from Kiteya in NYC plus two bright clementines with a homemade sparkly bead pick also in this nearly Valentine's Day bento...

Have a lovely weekend!

  3. Love your homemade sparkly bead pick! The sauce sounds wonderful, I'll have to try it. I just received my new organic vegetable and fruit basket yesterday, so I'll have to get busy, now that my sister and niece flew back to Michigan!

The heart background is so cute! Have a wonderful weekend Jenn!

  4. Hi Lyndsey, happy Saturday! The sauce was a magical combo of Greek yogurt, basil pesto, a little mayo, garlic puree--I think you'll like it. Your organic fruit and veggie basket sounds awsome, can't to see what you'll cook up with them..."see" you soon! ^^

  8. My favourite way to enjoy tea is on a lovely sunny day in one of my favourite tea rooms, curled up with a notebook and cake ♥ or sitting in my garden after I've been tending my plants, watching all the wildlife ♥ No matter how busy you are, you should always make time to relax and enjoy tea properly : ) What's your favourite way to enjoy tea?

  10. Hi Robin! There was a wonderful flavor alchemy between the beef and basil/garlic/yogurt flavors...yum! I actually found these beads at a local bead shop, so all I did was pop them on a toothpick for a quick bento accent!

Hope you are enjoying the weekend--is spring popping up where you are yet?

  11. Hi there Comtesse du Cupcakes! I'd love to see pictures of your garden and its wildlife residents, sounds lovely! And of your favorite tearooms, how feminine and fun that sounds...

I usually have chai in the morning, made with black tea, powdered ginger, cinnamon, sometimes cloves, always honey and milk. So soothing and good!

  14. Yes Jenn, we're busting out the blossoms on acacia, plum and other early fruit trees. Daffodils and narcissus waving their pretty yellow heads. Weather has been glorious with highs around 68 and blue skys. If you see any footage of the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach you'll know what kind of week it has been. I'm just on the other side of the bay. This wonderfulness will soon travel to your side of the world, honest!

How does these kompeito taste like???
I saw them in the supermarkets the other
day but did not buy as I don't have sweet tooth
and I try not to give my kids too much candies.
