Today's little bento contains a bunny sammie filled with roasted pepper and garlic spread, a red pepper dressed as a strawberry with black sesame seeds, golden pear tomatoes from the farmers market, snow pea tops, watermelon "flowers" and two honeydew bunny buddies...and a few strawberry-flavored Sakuma Ichigo Milk Candies:
This cool Japanese stamp set arrived this week, one of those little bento-related things that totally make me smile! How about you...what bento stuffs do you love to collect and where do you look for them?
The leaping bunny stamp was used to make this food pick...I'm looking forward to other bento crafts with this set!
Have a fun and refreshing weekend!
Those stamps are so cute! I enjoy crafts too. I have a bunch of stamps that I used when I make cards and tags and such. I have to go through them with a whole new mindset now! We don't have too many places to fine actual bento stuff, so I have to go with a creative mind when I am shopping anywhere like Home Goods ans little gift shops, and such. I just returned from my Asian Market (they know me too well in there and it's so close to me) I had to replace the oyster sauce that I accidentally knocked on the floor, and it broke. They are changing a few things around and I need to spend more time down their treats and home goods isle. I always have fun in there.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful bento! A very festive red pepper strawberry!
Have a happy weekend and happy grilling to your hubby!
Hiya Lyndsey :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet and interesting comments! Yes, think I recall card-making as an interest on your Blogger profile, neat that you have a collection of stamps to draw upon!
I love how bento bridges the cooking and craft realms...and totally relate to your comment about visiting various shops with a creative bento mindset--so fun! A favorite bento box in my "collection" was found in the unfinished wood section in a local Michael's crafts store! It will be fun to see your finds from the Asian shop in your bentos...
Wishing you a lovely weekend with creative fun as part of it!
Wow, this stamp set is really amazing and cute! I'm not a fan of stemps, but those are really lovely ;) I hope you can decorate a lot of great things with them.
ReplyDeleteHave fun, and I hope you will have a nice and sunny weekend =)
Thanks Lil'chan! Yep, these will be fun to play with :D
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely weekend, see you at your blog!
I love that bunny stamp in the lower right hand corner--so round and cute! And adorable bento, as always :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for mini bottles and things like that (and cookie cutters--yay, now I can justify buying more!) There's a Japanese Home Centre in Chinatown that I've been meaning to check out--will report back if it's worth a stop :)
Have a great weekend!
Hello! I've already tasted the strawberry sweets when I to Tokyo last year. ^^ Yummy!
ReplyDeleteHere you have a wonderful bento lunch ^^
Hi Carol! What do you make of that stamp--it looks like a marshmallow bunny to me, with aerodynamic ears? Cute but perplexing!
ReplyDeleteOh, should you visit Japanese Home Center, I'd love to hear about it--tried to find on my last Chinatown visit but I seemed to have wrong address!
Have you been to Kiteya in Soho? Love that shop, great little Sunrise Mart just up the street, too. Ah, NYC bento shopping....Happy weekend!!
Hm, you know what, it might actually have closed! Oh well, need to go to buy veggies anyway so I'll check around--I think there is another Japanese shop on Grand and Elizabeth...
ReplyDeleteThat bunny does look like a marshmallow :) Or a bread bun with ears!
Hi Arii, thanks so much! These candies had a nice milky-strawberry taste :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, when I try to visit your blog through your icon, it links to an anti-spam service (?) not Brest Bento...is there another address I can try? I'd love to see your bentos!
The stamps are so cool!
ReplyDeleteHave not seen ant of those golden pear shape tomatoes here before, are they sweet???
Hi Angeleyes! Yes, they have a pleasingly sweet yet acidic flavor (in addition to cute shape)!
ReplyDeleteThe stamps are way cool... hemmm, love those strawberry candies in the box :D
ReplyDeleteLove the little melon bunnies - and I love your new blog dressing too! Beautiful Jenn! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Ta, so fun to have you visit!
ReplyDeleteHi Lexi! Thanks a bunch--the bunny cutter is one of a new, cute animal set but I can't stop using it...will get around to the Yorkie and little owl etc one of these days!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of blog dressing, the whimsical birds roosting on yours totally make me smile when I visit :D!
