asian dumpling feast

Last night our dear friend Cheryl brought over the most delicious homemade dumplings filled with chicken, sugar snap peas, and fresh ginger. We ate almost all of them! Second time in a week I've had little self-control in the face of Asian-style dumplings (see recent seafood lumpia post)...but they were just too delectable. And perfect with a nice ripe Pinot Noir from Oregon!
It was a perfect breezy evening to sit outside, feast and have a great conversation until dark...
Have a great day, bento friends!

  2. Sounds like a lovely evening, good food, good wine, and good friends. That's a good idea with the dumplings. I should bring them over to a friends house instead of freezing them :D

  3. Wow, how wonderful to sit outside and eat with all the flavours of delicious food and sweet spring flowers together. I wish I could do that to, but here it's raining for over 5 days or so :/

  4. Dear Lia, thanks for comments that always bring a smile to my face! Yes, they were fried and slightly crisp but still tender overall...mmmm! I'm looking forward to adding some colorful flowers around the pond and for the blue hydrangeas to open :)

  12. Homemade dumplings are the best! I keep saying that I'm going to hold a dumpling making party, but that would require cleaning my apartment, and maybe getting a table, LOL. Also: KITTY!!! *petpet*

  17. Thanks Marisa! Trying to ease up on the carbs a bit now, last week was just too tempting! I have more of a weakness for savory carby treats than sweet ones, how about you?

  19. Thanks megan! Haha, the salad was meant to add some lightness and green balance to the substantial dumplings...I think I lessened that effect by eating so many of said dumplings! Have a great Saturday :)
