Hi bento pals! I'm so happy with the tropical-colored rose pictured above; it is blooming on a rose bush that has struggled in past years and this month is producing several radiant blossoms...
Today's lunch was simple, sunny and French-inspired, featuring a mini-croissant filled with crab remoulade salad. It keeps company with haricots verts and artichoke hearts almondine, mint, an apricot and a pistachio macaron:
Some favorite sweet things...
Looking forward to a fun weekend, hope you'll have one too!
Bento looks delish and pictures are great as always ^__^ love it!
ReplyDeleteI tried to make macarons once using green tea for flavoring, but failed ... yours looks so great!
it looks so fresh and light. it is very well choice before the summer:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lina! You are always so encouraging :D The macarons came from a local specialist bakery!
ReplyDeleteHi cafenoHut! We are having very summery weather this week...looking forward to a thunderstorm later :)
ReplyDeleteThe crab croissant looks delicious, and pistachio is my fave flavor ever. The macaron looks exquisite :)
ReplyDeleteWell, call me "johnnie-jump-up!" I want to join you in this bento-licious lunch Jenn! I am going to start seeking out these wonderful macaroons, but that is a challenge because I avoid bakeries due to unavoidable overindulgences.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are looking so wonderfu. You must be so pleased. Happy long weekend my friend.
Thanks for your always graceful and sweet comments, Sheri! Have a de-lightful long weekend :)
ReplyDeleteAw hi Robin, that sounds fun! Sharing lunch I mean...and macarons! They are so pricey "per" cookie that it tends to prohibit me from ordering one in each pretty color ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy happy weekend, always so nice to "visit" with you!
Jenn, I hope I can post my comment this time. I tried yesterday and the computer at work sometimes acts up so I try from home, but I still can't log onto my blogs or blogger from my home computer...it's so frustrationg.
ReplyDeleteI love the mini croissants, we get them that size often. They are the perfect size for us. I have been wanting to make a nice chicken salad to stuff inside it's flaky goodness! :D I am checking out that crab remoulade salad.
My Johnny jump-ups are already over :( yours are stunning!!
Have a wonderful weekend! any plans?
Hi Lyndsey! I know what you mean--Blogger has been having issues with comments function recently...
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, love the chicken salad in mini-croissant notion, can I borrow that? The crab salad remoulade was fast and yummy with crabmeat, aioli, mustard and mayo! I'm so into the jump-up this year, I'll be sad when summer conks them out.
Let's see, farmer's market and generally recovering from a busy work week tomorrow, possibly seeing friends on Sunday and making a birthday meal for a special pal on Monday. We'll be local and having some nice food I think, how about you guys?
Hugs!
The crab croissant looks so delicious. Your bento always make me drooling..hehe. Nice photos and love those flowers so much..thanks again for sharing them. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you E.!!
ReplyDeleteI <3 remoulade! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lexi!! Sooo easy and I was impressed with how much the mustard in the remoulade sparked the crab flavor--neat discovery.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a happy springy week! ^^
The weekend has come and gone and we'll soon be seeing another one. Ours promises to be rainy. Such weird weather this year. Your bento is straight up beautiful though. Love little sandwiches, artichoke anything, and pretty Jonnie Jump Ups (edible!). Love your pretty bento blog too. All the best!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! What's new and happy spring! such sweet comments, I really appreciate them. is spring quite variable where ou live? After a beautiful if rainy start, spring here has suddenly turned to summer with near 100 degree temps...this morning a lovely (if temporary) respite.
ReplyDeleteNeed to fly by your blog to see what's comin' up in your garden....have a great day!
Away from blogging for the 2 weeks school holiday over here, how I miss all your colourful stunning photos! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of your flowers, they're a feast for the eyes. Your bento is a feast for the eyes and the tummy! I absolutely love that you put it in a basket!
ReplyDeleteHi Ai Ping! I'm away from bloging on vacation, just saw your nice comments...have a wonderful school holiday break!
