blue hyacinth and mint bento

Happy Friday, bento friends!

Today's bento features brown rice with furikake, fish roe, a tofu heart, and avocado slices tossed in ginger dressing. For hapa bento's fun "fresh baran" B.O.M.B. challenge this month, a row of fresh mint creates an aromatic natural bento divider. Also inside: red grapefruit and nectarine slices.
Here's to enjoying all the emerging signs of spring!

  1. beautifully presented, and a great idea with the mint baran (could even save it for after the meal, to freshen breath)! as usual my mouth is watering from your great flavor combos (furikake & roe, avocadoe & ginger)... and the light and fresh feeling of this box is surely the way to welcome the spring season!

  8. Such a great presentation of a fresh and healthy lunch. Hyacinths/bluebells really herald spring ... it still a bit to early around these parts for them to grow, but by April the forest in my hometown will look like this. :o)

  10. Izumi, that's so cool that you have your own mint supply! I need to try to grow some this year...but there's lots of competition for space in the one really sunny (but small)part of our front yard! Thank you for your wonderfully nice comments!
