The sun is playing hide and seek behind the clouds today, coming out every so often to shine in a soft blue sky.
These roses are sisters from a large, bright pink Valentine's Day bouquet:
Solar grapefruit:
Today's bento features shrimp with ginger-mango chutney and diced grapefruit, roasted baby bok choy, purple sweet potato, baby romaine, blood orange and grapefruit slices. Plus a coconut candy topped with a dainty, parasoled kitten:
And speaking of sun, I'm still basking in the glow of the B.O.M.B. award. Can't wait for the next fun theme! Thank you Debra!
That little kitty is cute but cracks me up. Reminds me of the Crusha commercials.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the bomb!
Thanks Angi, you're a peach!

ReplyDeleteToken dear,
ReplyDeleteSo glad this bento gave you a sense of exotic escape--I think we both would love to be done with snow and cold...let's celebrate that March is just around the corner!
Wow, all those intense flavors sound so lovely on a bland grey day. This bento surely picked you up as the visual did for me! Thank you for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI just went grocery shopping and I picked up several different citrus items! I guess we all need some summertime flavors since the snow is finally starting to melt! Hope it's getting warm up your way!
ReplyDeleteHiya Sheri!
ReplyDeleteYes, I was trying to do some bento magic and coax the sun to stay and melt our snow piles with this one! So glad you liked it and I thought of you when combining vivid OSP and blood oranges :)
Hi BentoBeginner--
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds great! Maybe we'll be seeing some citrus-y bentos from you soon? Sunny and mid-forties predicted for Saturday, perhaps even warmer where you are? Enjoy the weekend :)
Congrats on your BOMB award! Your lunch looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn! I know its randomly awarded but still, so fun! Love your cute bentos! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a colorful bento! What kind of container is it in?
ReplyDeleteGoing to have to go in search of citrus now. Another craving brought on by beautiful bento. :)
Hi Susan :)
ReplyDeleteI found this box a few months ago at a local arts/crafts shop in the unfininshed wood boxes section and its been a favorite ever since! Thanks for your visit and happy bentoing!
i love your descriptions of your environment, they so skillfully paint pictures of nature and your unique outlook on life! this bento, too, is a real celebration - i love how you echo the soft curves of the box, and display the food so artfully.
ReplyDeletehi megan! A really kind and thoughtful comment that has me smiling! I love how we each are exploring our own "take" on what is appealing and beautiful in the bento-blogging process. Discovering and sharing our individual inspirations has been awesome fun!
